Gary joined CES in August of 2021 as Chief Residential Appraiser.  Since that time, he has transitioned to Chief Commercial Appraiser – West Coast.  In that position he oversees the day-to-day operations of CES commercial appraisal client, primary West of Mississippi.

He has over twenty years’ experience in real estate valuation, with particular expertise in valuation & review, regulatory compliance, and environmental & construction risk management.

Gary has performed commercial appraisals and appraisal reviews throughout the United States on a wide variety of properties.  He has also reviewed appraisals of properties in Canada and Western Europe prepared under RICS (Royal Institute of Charter Surveyors) standards.

As environmental risk manager at a regional bank he directed environmental due diligence from initial research (Phase I reports) through remedial work.

At banks and a consulting firm Gary prepared detailed highest & best use studies on properties, resulting in the re-development of 31 acres adjoining the Burbank / Bob Hope Airport, as well as several redundant bank branches.

Gary has a thorough understanding and extensive experience with USPAP, FIRREA and the Interagency Appraisal and Evaluation Guidelines.  He is an affiliate member of the Appraisal Institute, and is currently pursuing their AI-GRS, appraisal review, designation.

Gary received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Tulane University (New Orleans), and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from California State University, Northridge.
